Personal Character
Arthur Chickering (n.d.) laid out seven different vectors to a developing person; that a person needs in life that they can achieve only through this experience.
- One is developing competence. With this it has three different kinds: Intellectual, physical skills, and social skills. This includes how well you respond to others on a higher level of response. You become a more intent listener.
- Another is managing our emotions. We undergo a lot of different feelings while we are in college. Pain and anger, stress and fatigue. These are necessary for the future and helps build who we are.
- It helps us build references and helps us understand our employers and their desires and what we should be studying and striving for.
